The 2012 Jury Verdict Reporter Trial Excellence Awards took place on October 17th at the Intercontinental Chicago Hotel. This annual ceremony and reception hosted by the Jury Verdict Reporter recognizes Illinois lawyers from both sides of the bar for their outstanding trial work. Donald Shapiro was honored to receive an award for the “Highest Reported Kane County Verdict” for the case of Bun v. Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Our verdict for $24,775,000.00 was over 4 times the previous high verdict in Kane County. A full page announcement listing the winners appeared in the October 23, 2012 edition of the Law Bulletin.
