Expedited Social Security Disability Process For Veterans To Launch Mid-march

On Behalf of Shapiro, Cohen & Basinger Trial Lawyers | Feb 25, 2014 | Firm News

Veterans will receive high priority and expedited decisions if they tell Social Security they have a Department of Veterans Affairs disability compensation rating of 100% permanent and total. Veterans can show proof of their disability by submitting their Veterans Affairs Notification Letter. This will not guarantee an approval for Social Security disability benefits as the veterans still have to meet strict eligibility requirements for disability. However, it will definitely speed up the otherwise very long process of trying to obtain Social Security disability benefits. The Acting Commissioner, Carolyn Colvin reported, “Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country and it is only right that we ensure they have timely access to the disability benefits they may be eligible for and deserve.” Here, at Shapiro, Cohen and Basinger, Ltd., we are up to date on the latest Social Security disability developments and news and are always looking for ways to help expedite our clients’ disability appeals.
